Anaheim Ducks: Coaches and Cancer Survivors Award $25,000 Grant in Honor of 25 Years of Hockey Fights Cancer

Hockey Fights Cancer (HFC) has been uniting the NHL family for over 25 years, raising over $32 million and offering support to millions affected by cancer. On April 27, 2024, goaltending coach Sudarshan Maharaj will donate $12,500 to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network during the PurpleStride Orange County event at Honda Center.

Ducks Club President Aaron Teats expressed the community’s support in the fight against cancer and commended Maharaj and another advocate, Stothers, for their efforts in raising funds and awareness. During the PurpleStride event, Maharaj will be honored as the Survivor Speaker and will give a speech at the Opening Ceremony.

The event is open to the public and participants are encouraged to register or donate at PurpleStride.org/OC. On April 29, Stothers, a survivor of Stage 3 Melanoma of the Lymph Node, will donate $12,500 to the Ronald McDonald HouseĀ® Orange County.

The Ducks organization will join him for a tour of the facility and check presentation, demonstrating their continued support for the charity. To support or donate to the Ronald McDonald House Orange County, visit RMHCSC.org/OrangeCounty.
