The Anaheim Ducks earned a 3-2 comeback victory over the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center, with Troy Terry scoring twice and Lukas Dostal making 35 saves. This win marked Anaheim’s eighth third-period comeback of the season, improving their record to 17-30-2 with points earned in three straight games (2-0-1). The Ducks will host their final game prior to the 2024 NHL All-Star Break against San Jose on Wednesday.
Terry tied the game early in the first and then scored the eventual game-winner with 8:20 to play in regulation, with Ryan Strome also scoring. Contributions came from Adam Henrique, Frank Vatrano, Bo Groulx, Radko Gudas, and Urho Vaakanainen with assists. Dostal earned his 13th NHL win with a standout performance, making 35 saves, including the final 28 attempts from the Wild.
For the Wild, Kirill Kaprizov and Jon Merrill scored, with goaltender Filip Gustavsson making 22 saves. Both teams scored early in the first period, with Kaprizov and Terry finding the net. With a bad-luck bounce being the difference after 20 minutes, Kaprizov opened the scoring while Terry answered a few minutes later for the Ducks.
Kaprizov, recently selected to his third straight NHL All-Star Game, leads the Wild in points this season and ranks second in both goals and assists. Zuccarello, who assisted Kaprizov’s goal, clinched his eighth 30-assist season in the NHL.
