The Ducks have provided updates on the injuries of forward Trevor Zegras and defenseman Pavel Mintyukov. Zegras suffered a broken left ankle during the first period of Tuesday night’s game against Nashville. He will require surgery in the coming weeks and is expected to be out for about six to eight weeks. This season, the 22-year-old Zegras has played in 20 games and has collected 7 points with 4 goals and 3 assists. He reached a milestone on Tuesday, playing in his 200th career NHL game, just two nights after scoring twice in a 3-2 loss to Detroit at Honda Center.
In addition, Mintyukov also sustained an injury on Tuesday, separating his shoulder. His recovery time is estimated to be around six weeks. The rookie defenseman has skated in all of Anaheim’s first 40 games this season. He has been a standout on the blue line, leading Ducks defensemen in assists (17) and points (19), as well as co-leading in goals (2). At the time of his injury, Mintyukov ranked second among all NHL rookie defensemen in assists and tied for second in scoring.
